A LOOK IN THE MIRROR

The Articles of  Confederation agreed on in 1777 and finally ratified by the delegates of Maryland in 1781 were soon found to be inadequate and defective for the needs of the new nation.  On January 21, 1786 the General Assembly of Virginia proposed a joint meeting to put together a new set of rules by which to govern the new country.
Thomas Jefferson was serving as United States Representative in Paris and penned these words on February 22, 1787:
"The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it always to be kept alive.  It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all.  I like a little rebellion now and then.  It is like a storm in the Atmosphere." ......Medicineman!
