ELECTORAL COLLEGE-THE FINAL VOTE

December 19, Monday, presidential electors will meet in their respective state capitols to cast their ballots.  The Constitution does not allow them to deliberate, as some of the liberal body have demanded, no they are to cast their votes for the candidate that received the most popular votes in their states.  And in states where Trump won only Republican electors will cast a vote.  The same is true in those won by Clinton, only Democrat electors will vote.
The all out effort to change the status of the Electoral College has been furious and even threatening in some areas.  The NEA, National Education Association, spent a six-figure sum in an all out effort to elect Hillary.  That is money from dues collected from teachers who often do not support the NEA position.
Thee 538 electoral ballots will sent to Congress where during a joint session of the 115th Congress the ballots will be opened. On January 6 Speaker Paul Ryan and out-going Vice President Biden will announce that Donald J. Trump has been elected 45th President of the United States by "a majority of the whole number of electors."  The final vote!..........Medicineman!

BATTLE OF THE BULGE

Germany knew the war was lost.  The people, the generals and soldiers all knew the war was lost except.........Hitler!
Hitler launched the offensive on December 16 throwing everything he had into what came to be called, "The battle of the bulge".  The intent was to split the American and British forces by recapturing Antwerp.
The Nazis made significant gains taking advantage of the terrible weather that prevented Allied air support from resupplying the entrenched American defenders.
The story is told in dramatic fashion in the television special "Band of Brothers", the story of Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment.  The fighting, the shelling and the cold were always there to one degree or another from December 16 to January 25.
Patton and the Third Army was finally able to break the back of the German offensive and relieve those defenders of Bastogne...........Medicineman!

A DAY OF INFAMY!

"How could this happen?",  "Where is Pearl Harbor?".  "How could Japan do that to us?"
Americans watched closely the war in Europe and the "Battle of Britain".  They were interested in what Hitler was doing and some even watched with a quiet admiration at the man's ability to take so much territory so easily.  But enter the war?  NO!  The "America First" movement, the WWI Vets, the German American Bund (Brown Shirts) all were declaring "Sit this one out"!
But reality has a way of sneaking up on us and "sneak" it did on December 7, 1941 when Japanese planes came with bombs and torpedoes and blazing guns.  America was caught flatfooted!
Washington knew that Japan was on rampage in Asia and British and Dutch holdings in the Western Pacific.  They were concerned about our bases in the Philippine Islands.  We even beefed up our base on Wake Island, just in case???  But Pearl Harbor?
When the Japanese cruised all that way, undetected, in the northern Pacific and launched there bombers and fighters and torpedo planes they could not believe their good fortune.  They came in from the north over Hickam and Wheeler Air Fields, shooting up the planes on the ground on their way to Pearl where our Battleships, the pride of the Navy, lay at anchor.  No Torpedo nets had been put in place because the harbor was only 45 feet deep and it was thought that air dropped torpedoes would just dive into the mud on the bottom.  The Japs had already thought of that and solved that problem.
What happened there will always be remembered and the 2,474 Soldiers and Sailors who died there honored.  The USS Arizona remains under the Flag and a Memorial to that "Day of Infamy"!........Medicineman!

BYE BYE NFL

Football, that sporting combination of pushing, tripping, clobbering, shoving, grunting and groaning. That physical mayhem resulting in bumps and bruises and bloody noses, black eyes, torn cartilage and worse.  I am sure most of you can think of other words to insert here but these will suffice for now!
I mention this because I am no longer watching NFL football, nor listening to broadcasts of same.  I will not read about it nor think about it.  It is wiped from my memory bank.
When over-paid, under-educated, bad mannered and spoiled brats refuse to honor the flag of the country that allows them the freedom to make this kind of money and do hose thing I just mentioned.  When they prefer to sit on there pampered butt when the National Anthem is rendered and thus insult the thousands of Americans that have suffered and died defending their right to act like ASSES----that makes them a non-entity in my world and I am DONE!
The leadership of the NFL could and should clean up this problem, as some team owners have already!
I will enjoy my football at the College level, and even High School where the real game is played........Medicineman!

OPERATION TORCH!

Operation Torch took place on November 7, 1942, when 850 naval craft landed American and British troops in North Africa.  It was the greatest amphibious operation in history and was led by General Eisenhower.  The assault began with 60,000 American troops leading the charge..
The Allied landings took place on the north and West coasts of French North Africa.  Included in the attack were General Jimmy Doolittle for air and Major General George Patton for land forces. Bridgeheads were established both north and south of Casablanca, with little resistance from French forces, thus opening the second front against the Germans in North Africa.........Medicineman!

VOTE--CITIZEN OR NOT!

On Friday the Secretary of State received a letter signed by the Equality State Policy Center and the ACLU.  The letter told him to stop telling county clerks to require some persons to prove citizenship by producing a passport or other proof since illegals can get a drivers license easily.
I do not know how many potential voters are affected but at least 59 people in one county have been told to prove eligibility before voting.  Seems funny to me that I have to show proof before I vote and they don't want to?? .................Medicineman!  

"DEPLORABLES"

That is what Hillary called gun owners recently in a campaign speech.
In a New York Times article it stated that Clinton was asked her thoughts on about the Australian government buy back of some 650,000 guns a few years ago.  She answered, "I think it would be worth considering doing it on the national level if it could be arranged."
There is no reason to think that Hillary, if and when elected President, will not seek that "arrangement."
There are some 80 million (that is 80,000,000) gun owners in the USA, and more being added each day.  The gun industry will tell you that Obama has been the best gun salesman ever.  With that in mind one must come to the conclusion that there should NEVER BE AN ANTI-GUN MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OR SENATE!  But that will happen only when EVERY GUN OWNER VOTES!....Medicineman!

WHEN IS ENOUGH / ENOUGH?

While the American people are flooded with TV Ads, bill boards, posters,bumper stickers and various other reminders that this is an election year we should pause to consider this: Why does government cost us so much?
For starters consider this.  The American people, you and I, pay our president 400,000 dollars each year to be at the helm.  Then we give him/her an expense account of 50,000 dollars.  Of course he/she must travel so we give him/her another 100,000 dollars.  Oh yes, then there is the matter of entertainment????  So 19,000dollars for that item.  So far so good.
Then then VP must be paid.  That is another 233,000 dollars from our collective pockets, plus expenses, travel, etc.
The Congress must be paid and they come in at 174,000 dollars apiece.  I won't bother to add it all up/ might spoil your day.
Of course, to make a bad thing worse, the People of this great and generous country give each of them a nice salary when they leave office.  That is so they won't have to get a job and work a little like you and me.
Why do we pension Presidents?  Are they not employable? 
When Pres. Hoover left the White House he carried his bags to the station and went home--having never taken a salary while in Washington.  Roosevelt died in office (no pension).  Harry Truman and Bess just went home and took a vacation (no Secret Service either).  Congress did, a couple years later give him a pension of 25,000 dollars.  Now the practice has gotten out of hand when those elected can vote themselves a raise???.....Medicineman!

"WAR WEARY"?

In recent years we have often heard the term, "War Weary" used in a conversations that go something like this: "The American people are just tired of hearing about war and the dead, and want us to just stay home and mind our own business."  Or perhaps: " I don't watch the news any more...too depressing."  In truth, most Americans could not name one way that they have been inconvenienced by the wars we have been in since Vietnam.
Today those fighting our battles are volunteers.  Not one conscript.  Most Americans will know someone killed in traffic rather than armed conflict.  Most families have not been touched by our wars, only those who are warrior families. 
Since the loss of 58,000 souls in Vietnam American loses have totaled about 7,800.  Painful as that is an imperial war-monger we are not!..........Medicineman!

HEADS I WIN---TAILS I LOSE!

In just a few weeks I will be going to the polls ( yes I will vote), and I will make my choice between a candidate who has been in some form of government job all her life.  One who has never held a real, every day, punch a clock, earn a paycheck type of job.  Has always been into the Tax-payer's pocket book or trading political favors for big bucks.  One who has been caught in so many lies that no body is counting any more.  Or I can pull the lever for a loud mouth pop-off,vulgar, uncouth, "in your face" type who just cannot ignore a chance to make some rude comment.
So what am I to do?
What I am doing is thinking about the U.S. Supreme Court, that third branch of our Republic, the one charged with adjudicating those cases that come before the bench.  Adjudicating them according to the confines of the U.S. Constitution.  I find this to be a very sobering thought when I realize that the next President will be making two or three, maybe more, appointments to that court.  He/She will also be appointing many Federal Judges while in office. 
I cannot escape my responsibility as a citizen who believes in the stability of the only successful Republic in modern history. I WILL CHOOSE!...................Medicineman!

OPERATION MARKET GARDEN---NO GARDEN PARTY!

On September 17, 1944, Operation Market Garden was set in motion.  Four and a half months after D-Day, British Field Marshal Montgomery launched Operation Market Garden with 30,000 airborne troops dropping into Holland.  The object was to capture the bridges over Dutch waterways to give allied troops access to Germany. 
Surprised at first German troops quickly recovered and launched a very effective counter attack resulting in a failed mission and 17,200 allied casualties.  Germany suffered 9,500 total casualties. 
The movie "A Bridge Too Far" was based on this battle........Medicineman!

BOTTOM LINE!

Donald Trump is an arrogant loud mouth.  He is also "in your face" with some of his answers.  Mostly to the (Hillary) Press.  He angers people when he talks, not because of what he says but how he says it.  Trump is not a likable person.  BUT!  keep in mind this;  the next president will appoint at least two supreme court judges and maybe three.  NOW WHO DO YOU WANT TO MAKE THOSE APPOINTMENTS?............Medicineman!

GUN OWNERS-----LISTEN UP!

Liberal Demos, from the President on down, have endorsed Hillary Clinton for President.  That is a fact, undisputed. and one of the reasons for that endorsement is her big plans to take American's guns. Did you get that?  She wants your guns.  Period!
Hillary runs around the country spouting numbers and statistics that are all false or misleading, and she knows it.  An example:  "33,000 people a year" are killed by gun violence. According to social scientist, Dr.. John Lott, 21,334 of those are gun suicides, 586 accidental gun deaths, and 3,000 justifiable homicides with the actual 8,214  murders involving armed violent criminals.
That's all the 80 mill gun owners in this country need to know!........Medicineman!

"SEE THE USA IN YOUR CHEVROLET" (Dinah Shore)

You may remember just a few years ago, during Obama's first term, the coining of the term,"Too big to fail."  At that time, with much hoopla and fan-fare our leader handed over $80,000,000,000 (that's billion) tax-payer's money to General Motors so they could stay in business and NOT FAIL.
Now we learn that GM has moved to China, and 7 out of ten Chevys are built in CHINA!  YOUR TAX DOLLAR AT WORK FOLKS! .......Medicineman.

WAR'S OVER (1945)

On August 14, 1945 Japan agreed to Unconditional Surrender and World War II came to an end.  But this happened only after "Little Boy" was dropped on Hiroshima and "Fat Man" on Nagasaki three days later on the 9th.  These two atomic bombs, devastating as the were, did less damage than the "fire-bombing" of Tokyo where more people lost their lives. 
The occupation and rebuilding began the formation of the Japan we know today.  The United States and Russia shared in the occupation government because during the last days of the war Russia was allowed to take Manchuria with all her heavy industry.  Russia turned it over to Mao and his Red Army which the U.S. faced five years later in Korea..........Medicineman!

PURPLE HEART DAY---AUGUST 7

April 7 marked Purple Heart Day!   Everyone connects the Purple Heart Medal with the wounded warrior, but you may not know, "The Rest of The Story."
The medal was designed and issued for the first time during the Revolutionary War.  And, at that time it was awarded for acts of courageous behavior in the face of the enemy............Medicineman!

KOREA--WARS OVER??

July 27 marks the 63rd anniversary of the "End" of the United Nations Police Action in Korea.  No secret who provide the lion's share of the fighting!
The war started June 26, 1950 with the invasion of South Korea by North Korea across the 38th Parallel.  It ended three years later at the same 38th parallel.
The three years cost the U.S. some 50,000 killed and wounded and another 8,000 plus MIA/POW!.......Medicineman!

RULES, REGS AND RAW DEALS!

A quick look at government regulations will show you how bad the problem has become.  In 2015 alone, 3,410 new regulations were enacted.  And another 3,297 rules in various stages of readiness.  And during the same time Congress passed 114 new laws. 
"A joint study  by the Weidenbaum Center at Washington University and the George Washington University Regulatory Studies Center, reports that the 2016 federal budget proposed by President Obama calls for $66.8 billion to cover the cost of 'developing and enforcing federal regulations,' along with an increase of over 3,000 federal regulatory staffing, nearly two-thirds of which fall in the broad staffing category of 'Social Regulation'."
Now you may wonder how this has come about?  I believe Congress, our elected representatives, have gotten lazy and clumsy in their jobs and just simply turned the job over to hired bureaucrats without checking their work.  You can see what it has led to!......Medicineman!

"BIG PUSH"

On July 1st. 100 years ago the long-awaited "Big Push" began.  It was the beginning of the Somme Offensive and the attempt to crack open the Western Front of World War I.
120,000 troops of the British Expeditionary Force came out of their trenches and marched across no-mans land into the hail of machine gun and rifle fire.  By days end 19,240 British men lay dead and 38,231 more were wounded or captured.  The war dragged on!........Medicineman!

JULY 10 1940

On this day in 1940 Hitler's Germany dropped bombs on Britain and continued doing so with the idea of invading the English Isles.  The Brits responded with "Spitfire" and "Hurricane" fighters thus prompting Churchill's "Finest hour" speech.  As a result Hitler never made the invasion but instead turned his eyes and forces on Russia.
In the months leading up to the "Battle of Britain" the United States asked it's citizens to "loan" their personal firearms to the British people so they could defend their shores.  Britain had Gun Laws that deprived it's citizens of rifles and hand guns so they called on US for help.  We must never forget this event and be ever watchful!.......Medicineman!

KATES LAW SHOT DOWN BY THE DEMOS

Today, in the Senate of the United States, Democrat members voted down Kates Law.  The law to ban Sanctuary Cities.  San Francisco is one, the one that allowed the killer of The young woman bearing the name of the law a year ago to be deported and return time after time until he killed.  Sanctuary Cities "hide" them in their midst by failing to report their presence.  What a deal for the illegal........Medicineman!

DOOLITTLE TO TOKYO +74

Staff Sgt. David Thatcher was 94 when he died on June 29 in Missoula.  74 years ago Thatcher was a 20 year old tail gunner/engineer on the 7th B-25 to take off from the USS Hornet.  There remains only one of those 80 famous flyers who showed Japan that they had made a terrible mistake when they "kicked the sleeping giant" and took the fight to the heart of Japan just four months after December 7, 1941.
The remaining flyer is Lt. Col. Dick Cole, 100 years.  Col. Cole was Doolittle's Co-Pilot in B-25 #1 that historic day and last year joined Thatcher at the National Museum of the United States Air Force  in Ohio to accept the Congressional Gold Medal on behalf of the Raiders.  Just thought you should know!....Medicineman!

YOUR FAULT? MY FAULT? EVERYBODYS FAULT?

Six Somalia/Americas tried and convicted of joining ISIS and trying to sneak out of the country to join them and die a martyr.  Why?  First and second generation American they HATE the country that has raised them and given them the life-style they live.  Hate with a passion!  And the reason is because our leaders have failed to talk about the GOOD in our form of government and instead have found every reason to find fault in what we do.  Our schools fail to teach the good history (or any history at all).  Instead, our children are told how we have mistreated the rest of the world.
My Great Granddaughter just graduated from high school in the state of Washington where there was no Baccalaureate Program, no prayer.  They did have a Color Guard and a Choral group sang the National Anthem.  There were 6, yes 6 valedictorians each of which had to read from the slip handed them.
We have stopped being proud of what the American people have accomplished and the standard of living that has come about through our from of Governing ourselves.  Your Fault? My Fault?, Everybodys Fault?......Medicineman!  

IF YOU LIKE MUSEUMS..........

Fredericksburg, Texas is the home of Admiral Nimitz.  I can hear now the many young adults asking, "Who is Admiral Nimitz"?  During World War Two, while General MacArthur was commander of all Army forces in the Pacific, Admiral Nimitz was the head man over all Naval Forces in the Pacific.

When the Museum was started the proposed name was "The Nimitz Museum."  The Admiral put the end to that when he said it must be called "The Museum of The Pacific War." in honor of those who fought and died in that war.  And so it is today.

Covering six acres the complex includes the museum, the Japanese Peace Garden, the  Pacific Combat Zone, George H.W. Bush Gallery and more.  This is an opportunity to spend a couple of days in Texas quiet.  That is just what I intend to do very soon!.......Medicineman!

NICS

You have purchased a gun....you thought.  You filled out the paper work and the dealer ran it through the National Instant Criminal Background Check, NICS, and find that you have been denied.  What?  You say?  You have never been arrested, even a traffic ticket,  so why?  You appeal and the FBI tells you that they cannot change it and that you cannot expect them to change the ruling.  They just do not have the time for that!
Gun rights researcher John Lott has reported that 95% of the turn downs are "False Positives."  So there you are.  Your Government at work.  Feel better now?....Medicineman!

"IT'S TRUMPS FAULT"!

If one listens to MSNBC, CBS, ABC or reads the liberal press, while ignoring FOX NEWS, it is easy to come away believing that the riots at Trump Rallies are the fault of Trump and his supporters.
In California the rioters are burning the American Flag while displaying the Mexican.  At least some are Mexican, perhaps most of them, and here illegally (and they think that is OK).  You guess where they got that idea!
They carry signs, wave the Mex flag and shout the "F" word and other obscenities.  What are the Police doing all  this time?  Who told them to ignore bad behavior and broken laws?  Where is this going?  How to deal with it?
It is plain to see that we are headed for a hot summer.  There will be more of the same as the process moves forward and lookout for the Political Conventions!  It promises to be 1998 all over again; same song, same language, like thugs and mugs with disruptions and injuries all around!.....Medicineman!

JUNE 6, 1944....NORMANDY

FROM SUPREME HEADQUARTERS ALLIED EXPEDITIONARY FORCE came the following letter from General Eisenhower to every Soldier, Sailor and Airman of the Expeditionary Force:
You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months.  The eyes of the world are upon you.  The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you.  In company with our brave Allies and brothers-in -arms on other Fronts, you will bring about destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and the security for ourselves in a free world.  

Your task will not be an easy one.  Your enemy is well trianed, well equipped and battle hardened.  He will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944!  Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41.  The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man-to-man.  Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground.  Our Home Fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men.  The tide has turned!  The free men of the world are marching together to victory!

I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle.  We will accept nothing less than full Victory!

Good Luck!  And let us all beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend to be spent on the lake or in the back yard over the charcoal burner.
Memorial Day is a time to solemnly remember those who made those things possible.
Spend a little time educating your family on the price others paid for your right to be here.....Medicineman!

MEN?WOMEN?GUESS WHO?

In all their wisdom Washington has decided that America's "adult children" need to use any public rest room they choose, depending how they feel about their "gender"at the time.
Now they want us, the people, to put up with "women" raising their skirt to use the urinal and "men" occupying all the toilet stalls while our school children shower together. EGAD!.....Medicineman!

PATRIOT!

The unsung hero of our Revolution to be free may be Samuel Adams.  Among many other words he wrote the following:  "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace.  We ask not your counsels or your arms.  Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.  May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen."............Medicineman!

DO ANY LIVES MATTER?

The "Black Lives Matter" movement seems to have dominated the news of late.  Although cleared of  any wrong doing in Ferguson and the failure of the Grand Jury to bring an indictment this "Slogan" keeps being shouted and promoted.  Even Obama's Attorney General said it was a justifiable shoot.
Every year some 6,000 blacks are murdered.  A number greater than 6 times white and Hispanic combined.   Who is doing the killing?  Not the police, and not white civilians, but other blacks.  Go figure!.....Medicineman!

A NEW TWENTY?

THE GREAT MINDS AT WORK IN WASHINGTON HAVE COME UP WITH A BEAN-BAG IDEA.  WITH ALL THAT IS GOING ON IN THE WORLD TODAY AND THE ECONOMY CRUMBLING AROUND US THE CLOWN IN THE TREASURY OFFICE HAS DECIDED TO REMOVE JACKSON FROM THE TWENTY DOLLAR BILL.  WHY? YOU SAY?  SO THE HERO OF NEW ORLEANS  AND THE 7TH PRESIDENT AND FIRST PROGRESSIVE, THE FOUNDER OF THE DEMOCRATE PARTY CAN MAKE ROOM FOR HARRIET TUBBMAN.  NOW HARRIET MAY BE WORTHY OF SUCH RECOGNITION FOR HER ROLE IN SAVING RUNAWAY SLAVES BUT SURELY NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF SUCH A MAN.  WHY NOT JUST PRINT A NEW DENOMINATION?.....Medicineman!

Admiral Nimitz--The Man

On Christmas Day, 1941 Admiral Chester W. Nimitz arrived at Pearl Harbor to take command of the devastated American Base.  He was dressed in an unfamiliar khaki uniform, too big for him.  Khaki was new to the Navy and Nimitz had been used to Navy Blues.  He looked like anything but the answer to the Pacific Fleet's problem.
But as history records Nimitz WAS the man for the job.
Admiral Nimitz prayed this prayer:  "God grant me the courage not to give up on what I think is right even though I think it is hopeless".  Now you know!.......Medicineman!

A Legacy?

Barry, or, if you prefer, Barack Obama promised that "Gitmo" would be empty by the time he leaves office.  Today some more of the low-life confined there went back home or somewhere else to continue their interrupted Jihad against us "Infidels".  There remain there 89 inmates of which 35 are already slated to be released.  The man sitting in the white house, elected twice by the American people, claims to be Christian while behaving like a muslim, which, by the way, he promised to stand with when push comes to shove.  You ponder the situation, as I do, and wonder and wonder and?......Medicineman!

HE SAID HE WOULD!

TODAY IN WYOMING THERE ARE SOME 500 MORE PEOPLE OUT OF WORK---COAL MINERS.  WHEN OBAMA CAME TO POWER HE SAID THAT HE WOULD SAVE THE WORLD BY CUTTING OUT THE USE OF COAL.  YEP---INSTEAD OF COAL FOR ENERGY WE WOULD BUILD AND USE LOTS OF WINDMILLS (YES WE HAVE SOME IN THIS STATE) AND SOLAR PANELS TOO AND BY DOING THIS THERE WOULD NO LONGER BE ANY NEED FOR COAL OR NATURAL GAS.  YOU KNOW, FOR HEAVENS SAKE THOSE THINGS ARE NASTY, SMELLY AND DANGEROUS.  AND BESIDES THEY CREATE "GLOBAL WARMING" NOW CALLED "CLIMATE CHANGE" AND ALL THE STUFF THAT HAPPENS THEN.  "GOLLY-GEE"!  OF COURSE THIS IS BASED ON JUNK SCIENCE AND THERE ARE AS MANY OR MORE SCIENTISTS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS ISSUE.

BUT, LIKE I SAID, OBAMA DID EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID HE WOULD DO AND WE LET HIM.  THAT REALLY TAKES THE CAKE!..........Medicineman!

ON APRIL 1st, 1945 A COMBINED ARMY AND MARINE FORCE STORMED THE BEACH ON OKINAWA, THE FIRST PIECE OF JAPANS HOMELAND, IN WHAT WAS TO BECOME ONE OF THE BLOODIEST BATTLES OF THE WAR.  IT WAS ONE OF THE LARGEST OPERATIONS IN THE PACIFIC WAR WITH SOME 1500 SHIPS AND 1000 CARRIER AIRCRAFT INVOLVED. 130,000 JAPANESE DEFENDED AGAINST OVERWHELMING ODDS AND SUFFERED 124,735 KILLED, WOUNDED AND CAPTURED.
THE SHIPS FACED A FLURRY OF KAMAKAZI SUICIDE PLANES IN THEIR FANATIC DEFENSE.
THREE MONTHS LATER THE ISLAND WAS SECURELY IN ALLIED HANDS.
THE ALLIED FORCES SUFFERED 82,600 CASUALTIES.......Medicineman!

CAESAR FIDDLED WHILE ROME BURNED.  OBAMA TOOK IN A BASEBALL GAME AND SMOOZED WITH CASTRO AND THE BOYS.  BRUSSELS GOT HAMMERED BY MUSLIMS WHO KILLED A LOT OF PEOPLE AND TERRIFIED THE REST.  YOU WILL NOTICE THAT I DID NOT SAY "RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISTS".

A LITTLE KNOWN STORY!

IN THIS MODERN AGE OF INSTANT GRATIFICATION AND INFORMATION MANY IMPORTANT STORIES GET LEFT OUT.  AND TO OUR EVERLASTING SHAME OUR YOUNG NEVER LEARN SOME OF OUR MOST IMPORTANT PAST.

IN THAT THREE YEAR CONFLICT SOME 35,000 AMERICANS DIED FIGHTING COMMUNISTS IN THAT FAR OFF LAND.
THE WAR RAGED ON WHILE FOES ARGUED CEASE FIRE.
IN ONE SUCH FIGHT WAS A COMPANY OF INFANTRY FROM THE 7TH DIVISION LED BY LT. JOE CLEMONS.  IN APRIL, 1953 THEY WERE TASKED WITH THE JOB TO DISLODGE A SUPERIOR FORCE OF CHINESE FROM A HILL CALLED "PORK CHOP HILL" AND HOLD IT.  THEY TOOK THE HILL WHILE LOSING 110 OF THEIR COMPANY STRENGTH OF 135.  THEN THEY WERE TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE REINFORCED.  THAT ORDER WAS LATER RESCINDED.  THE HILL WAS OF LITTLE VALUE EXCEPT AS A BARGAINING  CHIP AT THE PEACE TABLE.  THE ARMISTICE CAME THREE MONTHS LATER ON JULY 27, 1953.......Medicineman!

JUST ONE OF OBAMA'S LUXURY VACATIONS, THE 2013 TRIP TO HAWAII, HAS NOW BEEN TALLIED AT $8,098,060.  THE SECRET SERVICE EXPENSES ALONE TOTALED $317,000.  AIR FORCE ONE FLIGHT EXPENSES ALONE WERE $7,781,361.3O (36.9 HOURS AT $210,877 PER HOUR).
EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE THE MOST GENEROUS PEOPLE IN THE WORLD IN GIVING TO CHARITIES, BUT I FEEL CERTAIN THAT WE CANNOT COUNT THE OBAMA CROWD AS "CHARITABLE" GIVING!  JUST THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.......Medicineman!

I JUST READ WHERE THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND HAS TOLD STUDENTS TO STOP USING THE PHRASE,"ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT."  INSTEAD STUDENTS SHOULD USE THE TERM "UNDOCUMENTED CITIZENS" TO AVOID HURTING SOME FEELINGS.  EGAD!  HOW SENSITIVE CAN YOU BE?
WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND IN UNIVERSITY AND THEN THE US NAVY ONE TOOK PRIDE IN BEING WHAT HE WAS.  IT WAS OK TO BE A "MICK" OR A "WOP" FROM NEW YORK OR NEW JERSEY, OR EVEN A "CLOD HOPPER" IF YOU WERE FROM INDIANA.  OUR CATHOLIC FRIENDS WERE "MACKEREL SNAPPERS" AND OUR INDIAN FRIENDS WERE CALLED "TONTO."  "SPIK" WAS RESERVED FOR OUR LATIN FRIENDS AND AT LEAST ONE OF MY BLACK FRIENDS WE CALLED "HERSHEY."  HERSHEY DIED IN KOREA!
WHY DO WE HAVE TO COMPLICATE OUR LIVES WITH A BUNCH OF SILLY IDEAS ABOUT RIGHT AND WRONG AMONG FRIENDS?........Medicineman! 

TO SPEAK OR NOT?

TODAY IN CHICAGO THE FIRST AMENDMENT WAS TRAMPLED IN THE STREETS.  WHY?  TRUMP HAD BEEN INVITED TO SPEAK AT A RALLY ON UNIVERSITY PROPERTY THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
SOME WILL SAY "HOORAH FOR THE MOB" BECAUSE TRUMP CANCELED THE RALLY FEARING VIOLENCE.  THERE SHOULD BE SHAME AND TEARS INSTEAD.
MANY OF US STILL REMEMBER THE DEMOCRAT CONVENTION IN 1968 WHEN POLICE WERE ASSAULTED AND OVERWHELMED AND BEATEN BY THE CHICAGO CROWD. 
IT IS A VERY SAD DAY FOR OUR COUNTRY WHEN THE VOICE OF DESCENT IS SILENCED.......MEDICINEMAN!

THE WELFARE STATE MADNESS!

Let me make it clear at the onset.  The term,"welfare state" is defined by the Webster dictionary as "a social system based on the assumption by a political state of primary responsibility for the individual and social welfare of its citizens."  The term does not include Social Security, Veterans Benefits, unemployment insurance, or workers compensation.  These are consider earned benefits.  They are not "means-tested."
According to Robert Rector of Heritage Foundation there are "69 federal programs providing cash, food, housing, medical care, social services, training, and targeted education aid to poor and low-income Americans."  These fall into 9 broad categories: 1)-Food aid, 2) Housing Assistance, 3) Medical assistance, 4) Social Services, 5) Educational Assistance, 6) Direct Cash Assistance, 7) Energy & Utility Assistance, 8) Child Care, 9) Child Development Programs.
There are about 90 million full-time workers today plus some 16 million Government workers.  Americans on welfare total 110 million.  The 20 years from 1989 to 2008 total means-tested spending increased 292 percent!
In the 50 years since President Johnson's "War on poverty" we have spent over 22 TRILLION dollars on anti-poverty programs.  More money then the country has spent on all our wars since the Revolution!  MADNESS--I SAY AGAIN-MADNESS! .........Medicineman! 

VETERANS--LISTEN UP!

The following is not my opinion alone.  This comes from a piece written by Aaron MacLean, a former Marine Corps. infantry officer who is managing editor of the Washington Free Beacon.
"---in 2004, before he felt the need for their votes, Trump was pursuing his own private jihad against veterans in New York City who had the temerity to operate as street vendors on Fifth Avenue---which is to say, in front of Trump Tower."  The article goes on to say, "Whether they are veterans or not, they should not be allowed to sell on this most important and prestigious shopping street," he wrote to Michael Bloomberg, mayor at that time.  "The image of New York City will suffer....I hope we can stop this very deplorable situation before it is too late."  Oh, and by the way, Trump stayed out of the Vietnam fracas with tactics much like Bill Clinton.  Food for thought!.......Medicineman!

The man in the White House; yes that one, has decided that he has the time to pay his respects today while Justice Scalia lies in State BUT he cannot give up his Saturday to attend the funeral on the morrow.
Justice Scalia is considered to be one of the brightest minds on the court.  His dissenting opinions written so carefully and so full of wisdom are considered so important because they will be used by future courts.  Even, perhaps, to change some life-changing decisions.
Obama's snub will live forever in the hearts and minds of most Americans! Medicineman! 

JEFFERSON SAID NO!

When Thomas Jefferson became President Jefferson he ended the practice of paying tribute to the Berbers of North Africa, known as Barbary Pirates.  For years they had preyed on ships of all nations, holding them for ransom.
In 1801 Jefferson sent ships of our infant Navy and set Marines ashore who converged on Tripoli from land while the Navy stood off shore with all guns bearing.  The practice of piracy was ended.
Now we are back to paying tribute to criminals and buying back innocent Americans held hostage.  The tribute paid was the release of convicted criminals back into the free world.  Obama and Kerry said it was a great victory for us.  I wonder?......Medicineman!

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM DAY!

January 16 marks the date of the passage, in 1786, of Thomas Jefferson's Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom.  Religious Freedom Day is celebrated in America each year on January 16.......News to you too?
From Thomas Jefferson:  "No provision in our Constitution ought to be dearer to man than that which protects the rights of conscience against the enterprises of the civil authority".
He also said: "Our rulers can have no authority over such natural rights, only as we have submitted to them.  The rights of conscience we never submitted, we could not submit"........Medicineman!

The President gives his "State of The Union" address while U.S. sailors are on their knees in front of Islamic hoods and we say, "We're Sorry?"

OPPOSITION--MEANS "OPPOSED TO"--AND THAT"S WRONG???

The English Parliament has what they call, The Loyal Opposition.  In the United States we have always had the Opposition Party, that is the Party of the minority.  The two, essentially, have the same task to do.  That is to point out, on the floor of Congress or Parliament the hazards of proposed legislation.  In other words, to offer an alternate proposal.  Seems sensible.
But, in the world of politics  today, it seems almost to be unreasonable to be opposed to ANY piece of legislation put forward by the party in power.  How did we come to this?...Medicineman!

Thomas Jefferson in his first inaugural address in 1801 said this: "A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned.  This is the sum of good government."......Medicineman!
